Open a dog, go to Documents, and tap the scan button in the top right. The iOS document scanner finds the edges of the page and straightens it for you.

You can also import a file or a photo instead, or create a document and type the dates in by hand. Nothing forces you through the camera.

Edit the document and set the issue date or the next due date yourself. The text recognition is a convenience, and the page in front of you is the source of truth.

Printed vaccination cards read well. Handwriting, faded ink, and a clinic stamp printed across the date are where it struggles. Check what it found before you rely on it.

No. The text recognition is Apple's Vision framework running on your iPhone, not a cloud service, which is the usual reason a scanning app asks for a connection.

The app has no networking code in it at all, so the whole thing works in a vet's basement with no signal.

You pick a destination and a travel date, and each step shows the window it has to happen in, counted back from that date. Some are "at least 21 days before", some are a range such as within 10 days, and the tapeworm treatment is a window measured in hours rather than days.

The countdown is a deliberate simplification. Real rules can depend on vaccination history and on the risk tier of the country you are leaving, which no single countdown can express, so the full nuance is written out in each step's own detail text. Read that, not just the number.

Treat them as a general guide only, and verify current requirements with the destination's official government site and your vet.

They were compiled from public government and pet-relocation guidance, but the rules change, and they vary by the country you are leaving from and by your dog's vaccination history. Every checklist in the app carries that warning at the top, and getting this wrong can mean your dog is refused entry or held in quarantine.

You can add your own checklist items to any plan, which is how to handle a requirement specific to your airline or your route.

Pupport posts no notifications at all. The only reminder it can create is a calendar event, and only when you tap Add to Calendar on a due date.

Because the calendar permission is write-only, the app cannot look afterwards to see whether that event still exists. If you delete it, Pupport does not know.

Only to add an event you asked for. It requests the write-only calendar permission that iOS 17 introduced, which lets an app create an event while giving it no ability to read your calendar.

If you decline, everything else in the app still works. You just have to note the date yourself.

As many as you have. The dashboard is built around a household rather than a single pet, and adding a second dog is not a paid upgrade.

Yes. A document can be exported as a PDF and shared through the normal iOS share sheet, which is how you would email it to a vet or a boarding kennel.

Choosing Save Image in that share sheet puts it in your photo library. That is why the app declares add-only photo access: it can put a picture in and cannot read what is already there.

No. The database is local to the iPhone it is on, with no iCloud sync and no account. That is the trade for a document vault that never talks to a server.

It is included in your own device or iCloud backup if you make one, which is how it would come back after restoring to a new phone.

The whole app is free. Every dog, every document, all five travel checklists, the weight charts and the calendar export.

There is no subscription, no advertising and no in-app purchase. The app ships without any purchase code in it.

No. Version 1.0 is an iPhone app and is not built for iPad. There is no Mac or Apple Watch version either.

It needs iOS 17 or later.

You can store documents and weights for any animal, since those fields are just text and numbers.

The travel checklists are written for dogs. The rules for cats and ferrets differ in places, so do not rely on a dog checklist for another species.
