Hide your fleet.
Sink theirs.
Peekaboard is a table of games for two people and one iPhone. The first game is Naval Duel. Play Captain Rojo on your own, or a friend on the same phone.
Peekaboard is a table of games for two people and one iPhone. Version 1.0 has one game, Naval Duel. Each player hides a toy fleet on their half of the sea, the players take turns to fire at the other half, and the first to sink the whole enemy fleet wins. One player can play the computer captain, Captain Rojo, at three levels: Deckhand, Captain and Admiral. Two players can share one phone, and a cover screen comes between turns so nobody sees the other fleet. A ship is moved by dragging it and turned by tapping it, and Shuffle places a random fleet. On iPhone Duo the phone lies open and flat between the players, and on your turn you fold your half up toward you to peek at your fleet. On every other iPhone you touch and hold the eye button to peek. The fold-to-peek was checked in Apple's iPhone Duo simulator, not yet on a real iPhone Duo. The match saves by itself and can be resumed. Peekaboard works offline, needs no account and shows no ads. Sound and music are original, with a mute button. It needs iOS 27 and is a free download. More games for two will come to the table.
How to Play
The game you know from paper and pencil, with toy ships and somebody to keep score.
Hide your fleet
Place your toy ships on your half of the sea. Drag a ship to move it, tap it to turn it, or tap Shuffle for a random fleet.
Take turns to fire
On your turn, pick a square on the other half. You see a hit or a miss, and then it is the other player's turn.
Sink the whole fleet
The first player to sink every ship on the other side wins the match.
A Friend, or Captain Rojo
Play the computer captain on your own, or pass the phone across the table.
Solo against Captain Rojo
The computer captain plays at three levels. Start as a Deckhand and work up to Admiral.
Two players, one phone
A cover screen comes between turns, so the phone can change hands and nobody sees the other fleet.
Shuffle, or place it yourself
Drag a ship to move it and tap it to turn it. If you would rather just play, Shuffle sets out a random fleet.
Stop and come back later
The match saves by itself. Close the app halfway through and pick the match up again when you come back.
Original sound and music
Every sound and every tune was made for the game. A mute button is always there when the room needs it quiet.
Play anywhere
No account to make and no Wi-Fi to find. It works on a train, on a plane or at the kitchen table, and it has no ads.
Made for iPhone Duo. Fine on Any iPhone.
Your fleet stays hidden until you peek. How you peek depends on the phone.
Fold your half up toward you
Open the iPhone Duo and lay it flat between the two of you. Each player has one half of the table. On your turn, fold your half up toward you to peek at your fleet.
Touch and hold the eye button
On your turn, touch and hold the eye button to peek at your fleet. With a friend, the cover screen comes between turns, so the phone can change hands.
iPhone Duo goes on sale on 23 October 2026, so we built the fold-to-peek with Apple's developer tools and checked it in the iPhone Duo simulator. We have not tried it on a real iPhone Duo yet, and we will update the app from what we learn when we do.
