Free on iPhone and iPad, iOS 27+

Your Mac.
Folded like a laptop.

Uplid connects to the Screen Sharing that is built into macOS. On iPhone Duo, fold it like a small laptop: your Mac on the top half, a Mac keyboard and trackpad on the bottom half. Nothing to install on the Mac.

Made for iPhone Duo. Fine on Any iPhone or iPad.

The layout follows the shape of the screen, so the keyboard never covers the Mac.

iPhone Duo

Fold it like a small laptop

Stand the open iPhone Duo on a table with the fold across. The top half shows your Mac. The bottom half is a Mac keyboard with a Mac trackpad under it, the way a MacBook is laid out.

Other iPhones and iPad

The screen is the trackpad

Flat, folded, or on any other iPhone or iPad, the Mac fills the screen and the screen itself is the trackpad. The keyboard slides up when you need it, and a hardware keyboard works too.

We use Uplid on a real iPhone Duo with our own Mac. Book pose and lying flat were checked in Apple's iPhone Duo simulator, not yet on the hardware. Other apps that use the fold are listed in the iPhone Duo app directory on heynavid.com.

A Trackpad That Feels Like a Mac

The parts you touch were built to behave like the ones on a MacBook.

The Mac pointer curve

The pointer uses the acceleration of a Mac trackpad and moves the moment your finger does. Tap to click, click with two fingers, or tap and then touch again to drag. Three-finger drag is a setting.

Pinch to look closer

A Mac screen is a lot of pixels for a phone. Pinch on the trackpad and the picture zooms in where the pointer is, and pinch out to see the whole screen again. Settings can send the pinch to the Mac app instead.

Scroll and swipe

Scroll with two fingers, with momentum, and natural scrolling if you like it. Swipe up with three fingers for Mission Control, and left or right to change Spaces.

A Mac keyboard

Command, Option, Control and fn sit where they do on a MacBook. Hold a modifier with one finger and type with another, or tap it once for the next key. The keys show what they type while you hold Shift or Option.

One clipboard

Copy text on the Mac and paste it on your phone, or the other way round. It is on by default and one switch in Settings turns it off.

Try it without a Mac

A small demo Mac runs inside the app, so you can learn the keyboard and trackpad before you connect to your own. It has no time limit.

Nothing to Install on the Mac

Uplid talks to Screen Sharing, which every Mac already has. You switch it on once.

01

Turn on Screen Sharing

On the Mac, open System Settings, then General, then Sharing, and turn on Screen Sharing. Under the ⓘ button, allow your user.

02

Join the same Wi-Fi

Put your phone on the same network as the Mac and allow Local Network when Uplid asks. Your Mac shows up in the list.

03

Log in as yourself

Use the name and password of your account on the Mac, the same as Apple's own Screen Sharing. Away from home, use a VPN such as Tailscale on both devices.

What Uplid Won't Do

Worth knowing before you download it.

Play the Mac's sound

Uplid shows the picture and sends your typing and touches. Sound stays on the Mac.

Reach your Mac over the internet on its own

There is no Uplid server in between. Away from your network you need your own VPN, and you should never open the Screen Sharing port to the internet.

Know your own Mission Control shortcuts

The three-finger swipes reach the Mac as its standard keyboard shortcuts. If you changed those shortcuts on the Mac, the swipes will not match them.

Promise every key on every layout

The keyboard comes in US and German layouts. We are still checking every key against Macs set to other layouts, so tell us if a key types the wrong thing.

Run on older iOS

Uplid needs iOS 27. It is not made by Apple and is not endorsed by Apple.

About Uplid

Uplid is a remote desktop app for iPhone and iPad that connects to the Screen Sharing built into macOS, so nothing has to be installed on the Mac. On iPhone Duo in laptop pose, the open phone stands with the fold across: the top half shows the Mac screen, and the bottom half is a Mac keyboard and a Mac trackpad, laid out like a MacBook. On other iPhones and on iPad, and on iPhone Duo when it is flat or folded, the Mac fills the screen, the screen is the trackpad and the keyboard slides up when needed. The trackpad uses the acceleration of a Mac trackpad and supports tap to click, two-finger click, tap-and-drag, optional three-finger drag, two-finger scrolling with momentum, and three-finger swipes for Mission Control and Spaces. A pinch zooms the picture in at the pointer. The keyboard has Command, Option, Control and fn, in US and German layouts. Uplid finds Macs on the same network and logs in with the Mac account, like Apple's Screen Sharing; the password stays in the Keychain of the device. Away from home it needs the user's own VPN. Uplid collects no data and has no account and no ads. It needs iOS 27. It is a free download with every feature in 15-minute sessions, and Uplid Pro is a one-time $5.99 purchase for unlimited sessions, with Family Sharing. A built-in demo Mac has no time limit. Uplid is not made or endorsed by Apple.
