Our Commitment to Privacy

At Applestan, we believe your privacy is a fundamental right. Our apps are designed with privacy at their core. We don't collect, store, or share your personal data, apart from the narrow exceptions set out below.

Data Collection

Our apps do not collect any personal information, and most of them collect nothing at all. What you do in our apps stays on your device.

  • No personal data collection
  • No tracking, and no usage analytics unless an app's own privacy policy says so
  • No third-party data sharing
  • No advertising identifiers

One exception, Stamp Days. It counts the days you spend in each country, so it uses your location to work out which country that is. Location is the only data type it collects, it is not linked to you and it is not used for tracking, and there is no analytics in it. The travel history it builds stays on your device. Its own privacy policy sets out what it reads and what it keeps.

Fold Cue sends anonymous usage counts, which you can switch off. It sends counts such as "a take was saved" to PostHog on its EU servers. They are on by default, and Share anonymous usage counts in the app's Settings turns them off. Your scripts, your voice and your videos are never sent, and speech is recognised on your iPhone. Its own privacy policy lists exactly what is sent.

Negink sends anonymous analytics, and uses an AI service to draw. It sends anonymous product analytics to PostHog on its EU servers, tied to a random device ID and not linked to you. To create a design, your idea and any reference photo go to its server and to Google's Gemini API, and the server does not store the images. Its own privacy policy lists exactly what is sent.

Local Data Storage

Any data created within our apps (such as preferences or saved content) is stored locally on your device and is not accessible to us. It only leaves the device if you turn on iCloud sync in an app that offers it, and then it goes to your own iCloud.

Stamp Days needs one clarification here. Its travel history stays on the device like everything else, but turning a coordinate into a country name is done by Apple's location services, so that request does leave the phone. It goes to Apple, not to us.

Third-Party Services (Apps)

Our apps do not integrate with third-party advertising or tracking services. The only external connection most of our apps may make is to Apple's App Store for purchase verification, which is handled entirely by Apple.

Stamp Days, the exception noted above, uses Apple's own location services to turn a coordinate into a country name. That is part of iOS rather than a third-party product, and it is covered by Apple's privacy policy. Stamp Days has no server, no account and no analytics.

Fold Cue uses PostHog for its usage counts, described above. Nothing is sent to PostHog while you have them switched off.

Negink uses PostHog for anonymous analytics, Google's Gemini API to generate designs and RevenueCat for in-app purchases, as described above and in its privacy policy.

Website Cookies & Analytics

Separately from the apps, this website (applestan.com) uses cookies for analytics purposes only if you consent.

What we use:

  • Google Analytics 4: We use GA4 to understand how visitors use our website (pages visited, time on site, general location by country). This helps us improve our content.

Cookies used:

  • _ga: Distinguishes unique visitors (expires: 2 years)
  • _ga_*: Maintains session state (expires: 2 years)

Your rights:

  • Analytics cookies are only set if you click "Accept" on the cookie banner
  • You can change your choice anytime via "Cookie Settings" in the footer
  • If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no data is collected

Data transfers: Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Children's Privacy

Our apps collect nothing that identifies who you are, so they are safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
