Summary: ComicFlow collects anonymous usage analytics to improve the app. No personal data is collected. All comic conversion happens locally on your device. Your files never leave your iPhone or iPad. You can opt out of analytics at any time in Settings.

Our Privacy Commitment

ComicFlow is built with privacy as a core principle. We believe your comic collection is your business, and we've designed the app to ensure your files remain completely private.

Data Collection

We do not collect any personal data. This means:

  • No personal information is collected (no names, emails, or accounts)
  • No advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking
  • No IDFA and no App Tracking Transparency prompt

Anonymous Usage Analytics

ComicFlow collects anonymous usage data to help us understand how the app is used and improve it. This includes:

  • Feature usage (e.g. which formats are converted, how many pages are read)
  • App events (e.g. conversion started, reader opened)
  • Crash and error reports for stability improvements

This data is:

  • Fully anonymous — not linked to your identity in any way
  • Stored in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany) for GDPR compliance
  • Processed by PostHog, an open-source analytics platform (PostHog Privacy Policy)
  • Never sold or shared with advertisers

You can opt out of all analytics at any time in the app: Settings > Privacy > Share Usage Data. When opted out, no data is collected or transmitted.

File Processing

All comic conversion happens entirely on your device:

  • Files are never uploaded to any server
  • No cloud processing is used
  • No network requests are made during conversion
  • The app works completely offline
  • Only files you explicitly select are accessed

Local Data Storage

ComicFlow stores data locally on your device:

  • Converted PDF files in the app's library
  • Thumbnail previews for converted comics
  • Your preferred quality settings
  • Reading progress, bookmarks, and ratings

This data is stored only on your device (and optionally synced via iCloud if you enable it). Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

No Account Required

ComicFlow does not require any account creation or sign-in. There is no registration, no email collection, and no user profiles.

Third-Party Services

ComicFlow uses the following third-party services:

  • PostHog (EU Cloud) — anonymous usage analytics and crash reporting. Data stored in Frankfurt, Germany. Privacy policy.
  • Apple App Store — purchase verification, handled entirely by Apple.
  • Apple iCloud (optional) — reading progress sync across your devices, if enabled by you.

No data is shared with advertisers or data brokers.

Open Source Components

ComicFlow uses the Unrar.swift library for RAR extraction, which is licensed under MIT License. The library runs entirely locally and does not transmit any data. Source code is available at github.com/mtgto/Unrar.swift.

Children's Privacy

ComicFlow does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children. The anonymous analytics data we collect cannot identify any individual user.
