Privacy Policy

The short version

Pupport collects nothing. Your dogs, their documents, their weights and your travel plans stay in the app's own storage on your iPhone. There is no account, no server of ours, no analytics, and no networking code in the app at all.

That is not a promise about how we behave with data we receive. We receive none, because the app never sends any.

Who is responsible

Pupport is published by Mousa Amin Sharifi, who is the data controller for the app. Privacy requests are handled on his behalf by Applestan, the studio that runs this site, which is why the address below is the studio's and not his own.

What Pupport stores, and where

Everything you put in, and only on your device:

• Each dog's name, breed and date of birth
• The document pages you scan or import, and the category, issue date and next-due date on each one
• Weight readings with their dates
• Travel plans, their destination and date, and which checklist steps you have ticked

This lives in the app's local database. It is not uploaded, not synced to an account, and not readable by us. It is included in your own iCloud or device backup if you make one, under Apple's terms rather than ours. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

The camera and the text recognition

Scanning uses the iOS document scanner, and the dates are read by Apple's Vision framework running on the device. No page, no image and no recognised text is sent anywhere for processing. There is no cloud OCR service behind this, which is the usual reason a document scanner needs a network connection.

iOS asks for camera permission the first time you scan. If you decline, you can still add documents from files and photos, or type the details in by hand.

Your calendar, write-only

When you tap Add to Calendar on a due date, Pupport creates an event in your calendar. It asks for the write-only calendar permission that iOS 17 introduced, which means it can add an event and cannot read your calendar at all. It does not know what else is in there, and it cannot tell whether an event it created still exists.

Nothing is added without you tapping the button. If you decline the permission, every other part of the app still works.

Your photo library

A document can be exported and handed to the normal iOS share sheet. If you choose Save Image there, it goes to your photo library, and that is why Pupport declares add-only photo access. It can put a picture in, and it cannot browse or read your library.

Notifications

There are none. Version 1.0 never requests notification permission and posts no notifications. The only way a due date reaches you outside the app is the calendar event you choose to create.

No third parties

The app contains no advertising software, no analytics, no crash-reporting service and no third-party software development kit of any kind. Its App Store privacy disclosure declares no collected data types and no tracking, which matches the privacy manifest shipped inside the app.

Because there is no network code, there is also nothing here about international data transfers, processors or retention periods. Those sections would be empty, and an empty section written out at length is a way of looking thorough rather than being clear.

Children

Pupport is a general-audience utility for pet owners. It is not directed at children, and it collects nothing that would identify a user of any age.

Your rights

Since the app keeps no personal data on our side, there is no account or record for us to look up, correct or delete. You still have the right under the GDPR to ask for access, correction, deletion or restriction of processing, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Email the address above and we will answer within a month. You can also complain to a data protection authority, in particular in the country where you live or work.

To remove everything Pupport holds, delete the app. To revoke the camera, calendar or photo permissions, use the iOS Settings app.

What the travel checklists are not

The checklists are a general guide only. Verify current requirements with the destination's official government site and your vet. Pupport is not veterinary, legal or immigration advice, and it does not know your route, your departure country or your dog's full history.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of Pupport ever sends anything off the device, this page and the App Store privacy disclosure get updated before that version ships, and the date below changes with it.
