Each design uses 1 credit, and so does refining one. Credits are bought in one-time packs and never expire, so whatever you buy stays in your account until you use it.

There are four packs: $1.99 for 10 credits as a first purchase, $9.99 for 30, $24.99 for 100, and $59.99 for 300. There is no subscription. Anyone who subscribed before version 2.0 keeps that plan until they cancel it.

No. Credits bought in a pack stay on your device until you use them, with no monthly reset and no expiry date. Only a legacy subscription from before version 2.0 works on a monthly cycle, and those credits do not roll over.

No, your device ID is stored securely in iOS Keychain and persists across reinstalls. This prevents abuse while keeping your experience seamless.

Try simpler, more descriptive words. Single concepts like "wolf", "rose", or "compass" work best. Avoid complex sentences - the AI responds better to clear, focused prompts.

Yes! The designs are yours to use as inspiration or reference for your tattoo artist. Many users take their favorite Negink designs to their artist as a starting point.

Each style has a distinct aesthetic: Minimalist for clean simple lines, Traditional for bold classic looks, Geometric for mathematical precision, Watercolor for artistic splashes, and more. Experiment with different styles for the same prompt to find your favorite.

Most designs are generated in 5-15 seconds depending on complexity and server load. The app shows a progress indicator while your design is being created.

A credit is only used when a design is delivered, so a design that fails does not cost you anything. Negink also retries automatically when a generation is blocked or the connection drops, and since version 2.2 a slow generation no longer gives up early. If your two free designs are already used, the app tells you so instead of showing a connection error. If the same idea keeps failing, the wording is usually being caught by the content filter, so describe the subject more plainly and try again.

Yes. On any design or body preview, tap Refine and describe one change, such as thinner lines, add flowers or remove the text. You get a new version that keeps everything else, for 1 credit, and it is saved in your history linked to the original.

Yes. Since version 2.2, the inner display of an iPhone Duo and iPad get two-pane layouts, so onboarding, design details and your saved designs sit side by side.

Your idea, and a reference photo if you add one, are sent to our server and to Google's Gemini API to create the design. The server does not store uploaded or generated images, and your designs are kept on your device. The text of your idea may appear in server logs, which we use only for troubleshooting. Separately, the app sends anonymous product analytics to PostHog on its EU servers, tied to a random device ID and not to you. The privacy policy has the details.

We use anonymous device identification instead of accounts. This protects your privacy while still allowing us to track credits fairly. No email, no password, no personal data.

Your saved designs are stored locally on your device only. We don't upload or store your generated images on our servers after they're delivered to you.
