No. This converter runs entirely in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device. No data is sent to any server, and nothing is stored. You can even use it offline after the page loads.
What does the quality slider do?
The quality slider controls the compression level for JPEG and WebP output. Higher values mean better image quality but larger file sizes. PNG is always lossless, so the slider is disabled for PNG output. A value of 80-90 is usually the sweet spot between quality and file size.
Why is my converted file larger than the original?
This can happen when converting from a lossy format (like JPEG) to a lossless format (like PNG). PNG preserves every pixel exactly, which often means larger files. If you want smaller files, try WebP. It offers excellent compression with very little quality loss.
